Smart Yard
CREATING AN ORGANICALLY GROWN LAWN, IS CREATING A SMART YARD
What is a “Smart Yard”?
It is having a lawn, or landscape that is not treated with the traditional chemicals or pesticides. Having Healthy & Happy Lawns
can treat your lawn or landscape with 100% organic fertilizers, soil improver, weed control and insect controls that:.
Create beautiful strong healthy grass
Create more productive live soil
Doesn’t require any posting of warning signs
Doesn’t pollute lakes or streams
Doesn’t destroy beneficial insects, organisms, or the “Little creatures that lives in the wood”.
Creates for you a safe lawn or landscape that your children can roll & play on
A lawn & landscape that is easier and less costly to maintain
Works in “Harmony with Nature”.
What you can do:
Use all natural products in your home
Encourage your relatives, friends or co-workers to “Go Organic”. Hopefully, you will recommend Healthy & Happy Lawns!
Plant native flowers (perennials, most repel insects) or plants: spireas, dogwoods etc. Avoid evergreens!
Install 3-4 bird houses! Birds eat insects! They are natural predators.
If you have a large property, install Bat houses! That’s right! Bats eat thousands of mosquitoes a day. They will help reduce the West Nile virus!
Make sure your exterminator uses all natural insecticides!
When you “Go Organic” you are taking the right “moral” path. It’s not just about lawn care anymore. It’s about doing the right thing. Cancers are rising at an alarming rate all across America and that’s a fact!. Nobody knows where all this cancer is coming from. Europe has the lowest cancer rates in the world. Why? (see pesticides).
Everything about treating your lawn or landscape is positive! There are no negatives! Unfortunately, most of the public is still skeptical. They believe what they’ve been told. But the fact is that Pesticides kill everything. Most have been proven cancer-causing. Chemical fertilizers pollute our lakes and streams, ruin and sterilize the soil (the “salts” compact it).
Westchester County along with many cities and towns have outlawed Phosphates, an element in chemical fertilizers, that pollute our lakes and streams Many cities and towns have outlawed pesticides from usage on hospital, school and park grounds. Many cities and towns require “prior notification” before pesticides can be used on lawns and landscapes. Almost all cities and towns require a posting or warning sign when pesticides are applied to lawns and landscapes Why? If they are safe? This is all negative! With what we now know about these health damaging pesticides would any one want to still use them?
As stated elsewhere in this website, we’ve used the traditional chemicals for many years (For customers that wanted them) and I used organics (For customers that wanted them) and this was long before I knew (and most everyone else) that the traditional lawn care chemicals were dangerous to use. I judge my customers lawns by how beautiful and healthy they were and how easy they were to maintain, My organic lawns turned how way better! Now I offer only organic lawn care. Most of my employees are my children or grand-children. I will not let them be exposed to these toxic pesticides! Why would you? (See lawn technicians)
By taking the above recommendations, you will now have a “Smart Yard”
